NSW: Eight charged with drug offences after homes raided

SYDNEY, April 5 AAP - Police arrested eight people in Sydney's south yesterday fordrug offences after a number of homes were raided.

Police spokesman, Inspector Steve O'Grady, said four men and two women, aged between22 and 24, were charged with numerous drug offences after homes in Kingsgrove, Roselandsand Sylvania were raided.

He said two youths were also charged with supplying drugs.

The investigations were part of Strike Force Tusa which was set up to investigate drugoffences in the Sutherland Shire.

"During the raids we located a significant quantity of amphetamines, about two kilogramsof cannabis and 1,000 ecstasy tablets," Insp O'Grady said.

"We also seized a large amount of cash and suspected stolen property, including whatis believed to be a rebirthed motor vehicle."

Three of those charged have been refused bail and will appear in Sutherland and Bankstowncourts today, Insp O'Grady said.

The other adults have been granted bail and will appear in court at a later date.
